I painted this bright red poppy flower as an antidote to the British Winter - so far fairly dull and grey! Using washes of vermillion and cadmium red against a cobalt violet textured background and touches of green for the semi-abstracted leaves, this paintings definitely pops!
Actual image size is 10.25'x14.5', mounted in a warm white mount and framed in an oak frame 16'x20' approx 2' wide, 1' deep.
