Path Through the Field
This is a scene painted from one of my regular walks here in the Oxfordshire countryside surrounding my home village. I walk my dog regularly around these fields and love the contrast of the blue/greys against the warm golds of the fields of grain. I have decided to paint a couple of these field scenes as they are such a striking picture and I love the countryside and am so lucky to live here! This painting is done using acrylic paints on a square canvas ready to hang, with the sides painted a dark blue-ish colour to match some of the darker colours in the painting (but can be painted white if you prefer) so no need to frame. The whole painting is done over a ground of warm pink which glows through here and there. I have used layers of glazes to keep the light. It forms a 'diptych' if liked with the other painting here of 'Harvest Time' which is of the neighbouring field.
